Oxfordshire Under 13s were comprehensively beaten by Warwickshire in their friendly at Jordan Hill as the visitors strolled to a nine-wicket victory.

Oxon were bowled out for a meagre 87 in 38 overs, with Warwickshire needing just 18.4 overs to surpass the home side’s total for the loss of one wicket.

The hosts opted to bat first, but struggled to gain any momentum, with openers Harrison Ward and Harry Davies dismissed for ten and 19 respectively.

Tom Price’s knock of 24 was as good as it got for Oxon, but he was one of just four to reach double figures.

Warwickshire’s bowling attack was devastating, with Ben Rex (3-16) and Daniel Mousley (3-9) destroying Oxon’s middle order.

In reply, the contest was no less one-sided.

Warwickshire were already well on their way to beating Oxon’s target when the first wicket fell, Oliver Price bowling Cameron Rice for 33.

But any hopes that this might trigger a swing in momentum were soon dashed as his replacement Oliver Lawrence combined with Jaskaran Bharaj to chase down the remaining runs, Bharaj top-scoring with an unbeaten 37.
