North Leigh 2, Thame Utd 1

A STRIKE from Andy McCabe secured North Leigh their fifth successive win and sent them top of the Premier Division.

Thame took the lead after 20 minutes when Nathan Jack fired home from an acute angle.

Five minutes after the break, North Leigh's revival began when McCabe's pass allowed Mark Lewis to cross low into the six-yard area, where Liam Hope netted.

With five regulars out of action, youngsters Ryan Colleton and Ben Hutter came off the bench.

And it was Colleton's run and cross which landed on the head of Hope, who set-up McCabe to drill low under diving Thame keeper Paul Searl.

Witney Utd 2, Ardley Utd 2

WITNEY United threw away a two-goal lead, but still knocked Ardley off the top.

Witney were in front on 11 minutes when Mark McMeeking slid the ball down the line to Robbie Wyatt.

He cleverly beat Adam Richmond, before delivering an inch perfect cross to Lee Keyes, who fired home into the roof of the net.

Witney had a penalty appeal turned down when Keyes was clumsily challenged in the box, but the referee waved play on.

Three minutes before the interval, Witney doubled their lead.

Tom Butler was crudely upended by Massimo Lagioia, and from an in-swinging free-kick by Stuart Douglas, the ball found the head of Jamie Cook, who directed past Edwards.

Ardley pegged Witney back within two minutes of the second half when Luke Holden prodded home, and on 55 minutes, the visitors were level as Witney made a mess of things in defence.

A long ball was missed by John McMahon and Greg Gardner fired home unchallenged.

Butler was denied by a post, but it was Ardley who finished the stronger, with Witney keeper Paul Tassell denying Phil Martin.

Fairford Tn 2, Carterton 0

IN-form Carterton came unstuck in Gloucestershire against crisis club Fairford.

Alex Green was denied early on by a fine save from Fairford keeper Ian Gill, but then the home side took control.

In the 19th minute, what should have been a routine clearance was messed up by Jamie Butt and Jerry Packham as they both went for the same ball, allowing Ashley Edenborough time and space to put Fairford in front.

The home side, who have financial problems, doubled their lead in the 38th minute when Phil Corcoran, looking offside, got behind the Carterton defence to slot home.

Carterton upped the tempo after the break, Green firing an effort wide, and Gill making superb saves from Jamie Stalker and Steve Avenall.

Carterton threw everything at Fairford, but found Gill in inspired form, making at least five further saves.

Slimbridge 2, Bicester Tn 1

BICESTER'S long unbeaten league run came to an end on a heavy pitch.

The opening goal came ten minutes before the break when a mis-hit shot was deflected into the path of the prolific Robbie Colwell, who fired the home side in front.

Five minutes into the second half, Bicester levelled through Adam Doyle after a Paul Spittle shot was parried by the keeper.

Luke Kelly picked up the loose ball to set-up Doyle, who smashed it into the roof of the net.

Bicester were unfortunate not to go in front when Doyle was denied by home keeper Ryan Chandler.

Slimbridge regained the lead on 64 minutes when a punt upfield found Kacey Johnston, who fired home.

Bicester were denied what appeared to be a penalty when Doyle was impeded in the box as he shaped to shoot, but the referee waved away the visitors' protests

Milton Utd 0, Almondsbury Tn 3

IN an entertaining game, Milton went down against promotion-chasing Al- mondsbury.

All three goals came in the second half, with Neil Rossley (2) and Justin Bishop on target for the visitors.

Wantage Tn 2, Kidlington 1

WANTAGE edged home after controlling the opening ex- changes.

Paul Day fired them in front, converting a free-kick by Glyn Jones, then ten minutes later, Adam Giles made it 2-0 with a turn and shot.

Kidlington reduced the arrears ten minutes before the break when Jaroslav Karpal netted.
