Dave Kitson and James Constable are expected to play together for the first time as Oxford United visit Berwick Rangers today.
The pair have not been on the pitch at the same time in United’s opening two pre-season games, but are likely to be given the chance to begin building a partnership.
Left winger Callum O’Dowda is in line for a start at Shielfield Park after impressing so far on tour.
U’s boss Chris Wilder is keen to give the back four a chance to settle, so is due to name the same defence which started Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at Alloa Athletic.
He said: “It might be the same team for 60 or 75 minutes, we’ll see.
“The levels have been good, they have worked extremely hard up here and hopefully will go and put in another decent performance.”
Matt Heath is again the only member of the touring party ruled out with an injury.
The centre back, who is on trial, has not yet recovered from an ankle injury picked up in training on Tuesday.
Despite being just over the border in England, Berwick play in Scottish Division 3, finishing 36 points behind champions Glasgow Rangers last season.
