Brightwell-cum-SotweLl have won the Gauntlett Goblet eight-a-side competition to complete a memorable week for the club.
The under 13 team triumphed on finals day at Abingdon Vale after defeating Stonesfield in the semi-final and then Hook Norton.
It came just after Brightwell’s under 11 side completed their season with a 100 per cent record for the first time in the club’s history.
Hook Norton batted first in the final and reached a respectable 276, thanks to Sam Sherpa-Moore, who hit two sixes and seven fours in his 37.
Matt Weber was the best bowler with 3-33.
Brightwell were undaunted by the target as 28 from Byron Driver-Jones and 25 from Max Thompson saw them to 291.
The best bowling of the day came from Arun Heap, who took 6-12 in Stonesfield’s third-placed play-off win over Chadlington.
In league action, Abingdon Vale maintained their 100 per cent record in the Oxfordshire League with a 48-run win at Oxford.
Ollie Price (31no), Ben Charlesworth (30) and Charlie Taylor (30) saw the visitors to 124-1 off their 20 overs.
Lucas Allum then took 2-3 as Oxford were restricted to 76-7.
Warborough & Shillingford were on the wrong end of a hat-trick in their eight-wicket loss at Pangbourne & Whitchurch.
Shourya Sharma took 5-8, including three in three balls, as Warborough were bowled out for 84.
