Chloe Elliott produced a terrific display at the Aegon Grade 2 tournament in Queenswood School, Hertfordshire.
Elliott, who trains at Abingdon’s White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre, finished third in the nine and under competition – a national level event with the best players from all over the country taking part.
There was more success for more county players. Ned Batstone got through the opening round of the Under 12 Grade 1 Clay Court Championships to reach the country’s top 40.
Ryan Brough made the under 14 singles final against Ross Wilson where he went down to a 6-4, 6-2 defeat.
Matilda Mutavdzic won the under 9 Grade 3 event in Doncaster without dropping a set.
Oxfordshire’s ten and under county teams enjoyed mixed fortunes.
The girls team of Lara Frank, Jana Cooper-Marcos, Lucia Langdale and Gemma Taylor thumped Bucks 8-0, but lost 6-2 against Berkshire to finish fourth overall.
The boys came third in their event in Oxford.
The team of Will Taylor, James Head, Alex Raven, Will Sayer and Tarek Khan beat Channel Islands and Berkshire 6-2.
