SIMI Fajemisin climbed to fifth in the British under 17 long jump rankings after an impressive display in the UK Youth Development League.

Oxford City’s Fajemisin, 15, helped Team Oxfordshire finish second in their Midland Premier 2 meeting at Yeovil.

She won the under 17 girls’ long jump with a leap of 5.63m and took the 100m in 12.7secs.

Clubmate Tim Stephens also enjoyed a victory double for the composite side, which incorporates Abingdon Amb-lers, Radley, White Horse Harriers and Oxford City.

Stephens triumphed in the under 17 boys’ steeplechase and high jump.

Abingdon’s Georgia Harvey won the under 17 girls’ 800m and the under 20 ladies’ 4x400m relay alongside Radley’s Gina Sunderland and Hayley Perrin plus White Horse Harrier Becky Hodgson.

Team Oxfordshire are second after two rounds.
