OXFORDSHIRE’S Olympic gold medal winning men will go for glory in an eight this summer, it was announced today.

Andy Triggs Hodge, Pete Reed and Alex Gregory won gold as part of the the men’s four at London 2012.

They will now spearhead Britian’s eight at the second World Cup regatta of the season - at last year’s Olympic venue of Eton Dorney - from June 21-23.

Oxford’s Triggs Hodge, fellow Oxford Blue Reed and Gregory, from Henley, have already competed in that boat this year, but today’s announcement confirms this move is not just an experiment.

Elswewhere, brothers Richard and Peter Chambers, of Oxford Brookes fame, team up in the lightweight men’s double scull.
