HORSPATH seamer Lee Mason took 5-32 to send Twyford’s batsmen reeling to 79 all out.

Mason, who also took a five-for the following day in The Cricketer Village Cup, was ably supported by Patrick Foster (3-30) as the visitors’ innings spanned only 26 overs.

Jimmy Phillips (45no) then steered Horspath to 80-1 in the 17th over as they stretched their lead at the top.

Thame Town were bowled out for 90 in 40.2 overs by Oxford 2nd, who promptly reached 94-2 from 27.2.

Oxford Downs slipped to the bottom of the table after failing to chase down Banbury 2nd’s 196-7.

Andrew Sabin (40) gave Banbury a solid start, and Steve Beck (73no) ensured they finished with a defendable total. Richard Beer captured 3-47 for the hosts.

Jacques Prinsloo then took 4-58 to keep Downs in check, and they came up short on 188-6 despite Amin Rafiq’s 37 not out and Darryl Woods’s 35.

Shipton-under-Wychwood dominated their home match with Buckingham Town, but could not prise out the last two visiting batsmen.

Jason Hunt hammered 63 and Joe Barrett chipped in with 30 in Shipton’s 186. Jack Parish took 4-42 and James Gear 4-53 for Town, who claimed the tenth wicket off the penultimate ball of the innings.

Ben Laycock then made 31, but the visitors struggled against Sasha Barrass (4-48) and settled for a draw on 139-8.

Garth Davson hit 84 and took 3-34 for Great Brickhill, but still finished on the losing side at Leighton Buzzard Town.

The home side managed 203-8 from their 53 overs, Phil Whatmore hitting 82 and Jack Kempster 35.

Davson kept Brickhill’s hopes alive for a time, but spin twins Lee Selfe (4-30) and Antony Francis (4-35) worked their way through the card to leave the visitors 159 all out.
