CHERWELL LEAGUE - Divisions 6-10
MARK Carpenter was out lbw for 99 as Cumnor 3rd defeated hosts Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 3rd by four wickets in Division 8.
Carpenter, playing his first game for five years, did not realise he was so close to the milestone.
Nondies made 187-9, thanks to Andy Haynes (87) and Ian Gregor (40).
Ian Curtis took 4-40 for Cumnor before Carpenter shone in their 189-6.
Harry Porter, however, did reach three figures in Oxford 4th’s 214-run hammering of Shipton-under-Wychwood 3rd.
Porter hit 105 not out and Kashif Hafeez 68 in Oxford’s 283-9, Robert Panting taking 4-72.
Ankur Muir (5-17) and Kasim Nawaz (3-24) then combined to skittle Shipton for 39.
Tom Murray took 5-28 as Horspath 3rd beat Wolverton Town 2nd by ten wickets in Division 6.
Murray restricted Wolverton to 50-8, then Horspath cruised to 51-0.
Joe Thomas (4-7) and Alex Kelly (3-12) helped Great & Little Tew 3rd dismiss Bletchley Town 2nd for 56 in Division 7.
Earlier, Dave Freeman’s 70 led Tew to 202-7.
