The Cricketer Village Cup
ENGLAND Under 19 Test player Miles Hammond is included in the Aston Rowant side to visit Tiddington in Sunday’s Oxfordshire semi-finals.
All-rounder Hammond only joined Rowant this season, but is eligible to play as he is only 17.
Players aged 18 or over must have appeared for the club in four non-Village Cup matches during the previous season.
Rowant will be captained by Richard Cook, while Gordon Harris is among the players coming in.
Tiddington, of Cherwell League Division 2, will be underdogs, but they have already knocked out Shipton-under-Wychwood.
Matt Maule captains the hosts, as regular skipper Darren Risden is unavailable.
“We know that if we play to our A game, we will have chance,” said Maule.
Cherwell League Division 1 leaders Horspath host Home Counties high fliers Great & Little Tew in the other semi-final.
Tew have not yet named their side, but all their players, bar Josh Megson, are available.
Megson cannot play because he will turn 18 before September 1.
Horspath will be without Oxfordshire seamer Patrick Foster as he has played first-class cricket for Durham MCC Universities.
