Josh Randall laid on two touchdowns as Oxford Saints came from behind to win 19-12 at home to Bournemouth Bobcats in BAFA National South.

The hosts got away to a bright start at Abingdon and led through Troy Smith’s touchdown.

But the Bobcats, who had lost the reverse fixture 9-7 a fortnight earlier, hit back with two scores to lead 12-7 by half-time.

The Saints responded well and dominated the second half to complete a league double over the Dorset club.

Randall proved the difference, unlocking the Bobcats’ defensive unit with passes for Ali Galbraith and James Walter to run in for touchdowns.

It put the home side 19-12 ahead, but their defence had to fend off the Bobcats’ attempts to level the scores.

Martin Fitzpatrick sealed the victory by bringing down the Bournemouth quarterback to halt a dangerous attack.

The victory gives the Saints a 2-1 winning record so far this season, ahead of the trip to Farnham Knights on June 16.
