Oxfordshire Academy slipped to their second successive defeat with a four-wicket loss to Bucks Academy at Marlow.
Having won the toss and decided to bat, Oxon, who were beaten by Sussex in their county opener, were all out for 179.
Jasper Davies top-scored with a fluent 55 off 58 balls, which included five fours and two sixes, with off-spinner Matt Rance (3-25) the pick of the Bucks attack.
Karl Penhale’s opening burst of 3-16 reduced Bucks to 35-3.
But Michael Payne (50), the 1st XI’s stand-in skipper, and Barnaby Atkins (47) rebuilt the innings and despite left-arm spinner Chris Leaney taking 3-24 off ten overs, the hosts clinched victory at 180-6 with 5.4 overs to spare.
Scores: Oxfordshire Academy 179 (47.1 ovs, J Davies 55, A Hubbert 34, M Rance 3-25), Bucks Academy 180-6 (44.2 ovs, M Payne 50, B Atkins 47, K Penhale 3-16, C Leaney 3-24).
