Oxford City triple jumper Nathan Douglas (pictured) continued his comeback from injury with victory at the Bedford International Games.
Douglas, 31, triumphed with a leap of 16.53m – 17cm ahead of second-placed Julian Reid (Birchfield Harriers).
Having competed just once in 2012 due to a hamstring injury, Douglas returned to action with a 16.19m leap at Loughborough on May 19.
Yesterday’s mark of 16.53 was still well below the 17.20 Douglas will need to achieve the World Championships qualifying A-standard.
But it represents a big step forward for the Oxford City man who set a personal best of 17.64 in 2005.
