Oxfordshire were knocked out of the MCCA Trophy last night after Cornwall beat Bedfordshire by 56 runs.
That result saw Cornwall leapfrog Oxon and take the second qualifying spot in Group 1.
Oxfordshire’s hopes had been left hanging by a thread after losing by 16 runs to Cornwall at Challow & Childrey on Sunday.
They needed Bedfordshire to win their remaining two matches to have any chance of progressing, but that never looked likely after Cornwall made 329-7 at Cople.
Hosts Bedfordshire made a decent fist of their reply before closing on 272-9.
Should Devon defeat Bedfordshire in their final match on Sunday, Oxfordshire will finish fourth on net run rate.
