WITNEY Swifts 2nd captain Josh Grant marked his 21st birthday in style, his century helping his side to a 148-run victory at Minster Lovell 3rd in Division 9 of the OCA League.

Grant smashed 109 and youngster 15-year-old Redd Pratley 76 in Swifts’ 247-4.

Minster were then shot out for 99, Bob Godwin taking 6-4 from nine overs.

Pete Whinfrey was another six-shooter, taking 6-24 to help Sunningwell 2nd to a five-wicket home win over Dorchester 2nd.

Whinfrey’s helped to bowl out Dorchester for 79, before Sunningwell made 80-5.

In Division 5, Scott Akers’s five-wicket haul was in vain for Hanborough, who fell to a 43-run home defeat against Kilkenny.

The visitors were bowled out for 177 as Akers returned 5-48 and Martyn Oliver 4-45.

But Kashif Hafeez (4-39) then helped dismiss Hanborough for 134.

Gary Rowles took 6-20 as West Witney rolled over hosts Great Horwood 2nd for 63.

Saurabh Mehrotra then hit 40 as West Witney eased to 64-2.

In Division 6, Dorchester’s Thom Airs was the star with the ball, his 5-37 helping his side to a ten-run win at home to Hook Norton 2nd.

Dorchester had been dismissed for 114, before Airs took over with the ball as Hooky were all out for 104.

East & West Hendred 2nd had a day to forget in Division 7 as they were shot out for a paltry 42 at Swinbrook 2nd.

There were no few than seven ducks in the Hendred innings, Martin Killick the pick of the Swinbrook bowlers with 4-8.

Tom Julian then hit 34 not out to see Swinbrook to a ten-wicket win.

Ran Da Silva took 5-39 as Kidlington 2nd won by 85 runs at Stonesfield 2nd.

Graham Eagle and Shujaat Khan both scored 67 in Kidlington’s 219-5, before Da Silva’s haul helped to dismiss the home side for 134.

Jacob Souch scored a fine century for hosts Ducklington in their 187-run mauling of Radley 2nd in Division 8.

Ducklington made 265-6, Stuart Weston chipping in with 69 as he and Souch (109) put on 174 for the first wicket.

Nathan Himpson’s 6-34 was in vain as Marcham 2nd lost by 66 runs at West Ilsley 2nd.

The hosts were all out for 171, Adam Barnes hitting 72.

Mike Bee then claimed 4-12 as Marcham were shot out for 105.
