OXFORD Downs 2nd seamer Steve Roberts ripped through Long Marston to take 8-39 and reduce the hosts to 174 all out.

Stephen Moss (57) starred for Marston, but Roberts’s efforts proved in vain as Downs crumbled to 120 all out against Philip Jackson (4-27) and Beesley (4-34).

All four results were possible entering the final stages of the game between Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nd and Banbury 3rd.

Hosts Shipton made 183 all out thanks to David Bugge (78) and Chris Panter (34), while Joshua Hill took 5-53 and Bradley Taylor 3-7.

Adnan Ahmed (38) kept Banbury in the hunt, but Jamie McLaren (5-20) left them clinging on at 175-9.

Cublington battered Bicester & North Oxford by six wickets to go top.

Daniel Catt (5-23) and Kieron Sear (4-23) reduced Bicester to 132 all out, as only Richard Simpson (58) ever looked comfortable.

Pip Webb (42) and Joe Leonard (32) then helped steer the visitors to 138-4.

A fine century by Stephen Green (102no) and 43 from Mitchell Meredith meant Horspath 2nd claimed full batting points with 220-6 at Sandford St Martin.

The hosts were not interested in the chase, but Ian Reynolds’s 32 saw them stave off defeat on 152-7.

Ridge managed 160-8 in reply, Steve Bird hitting 35 while Faisal Ali took 4-38.
