Guy Giles, of City of Oxford, won three medals at the South East Regional Youth Championships in Crawley Giles, 18, finished first in the 400m freestyle, second in the 1500m freestyle and third in the 200m backstroke. Clubmate Lisa Van Breugel, 18, came second in the 800m freestyle, while Lucy Smith, 16, finished third in the 100m butterfly.

They were joined by Emma Lomas and Elizabeth Oliver as City won a bronze in the 4x200m freestyle relay.

In the multi-disability events Oxford’s Chris Currie, 18, took the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m freestyle and 100m backstroke events.

Michael Esnouf and Alex Murphy led the way as Abingdon Vale picked up eight gold medals.

Esnouf won the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke for the 15-16 age group, while Murphy did likewise in the 17-plus category.

The club's other two golds came from Niall O’Leary, 16, in the 50m and 100m backstroke.

Caitlin Wheatley, 15, collected silvers in the 100m and 200m butterfly and Harry James took bronze in the 100m breaststroke.

Esnouf, O’Leary and Wheatley all set club 16 and under and open club records.

Yolanda Speare, of Witney & District, struck silver in the women’s 17 years and over 100m and 200m backstroke plus a bronze in the 50m backstroke.

Speare posted long-course club records in all three events and did a national qualifying time in the 100m backstroke.

James Bark won a bronze in the men’s 50m butterfly with a club record.
