OXFORD United are expecting Adam Chapman to leave this summer by turning his loan at Mansfield Town into a permanent move.

The 23-year-old midfielder played 11 games, scoring four times, after moving in March to help the Stags win the Blue Square Bet Premier and a return to the Football League.

Mansfield have said they are in negotiations and U’s chairman Ian Lenagan felt a move was probable, although nothing has been agreed.

He said: “I think it’s highly likely he will move, but that’s just reading the signs.”

If a transfer is agreed, United would be eligible to receive a fee for Chapman, who signed a two-year deal with the U’s last summer.
