Oxford City Nomads celebrate with the Bluefin Insurance Cup
Daniel Warne hit a late winner as Oxford City Nomads beat Cheltenham Saracens 2-1 in the Uhlsport Hellenic League’s Bluefin Insurance Cup final at Ardley United yesterday.
Warne struck with the clock ticking down to see Nomads lift the cup for the first time in front of a Bank Holiday crowd of 254.
Adam Lovegrove had given Nomads an early lead with his 27th goal of the season.
They were pegged back by a combative Saracens side before half-time.
But Warne had the last word to spark wild celebrations.
