Division 1 side Witney E were given a big fright by Diviison 2 hosts Riley F in the second round of the Gentworks Oxford & District Snooker League’s Simonds Cup.
Witney edged through 4-3 thanks to a double from Wayne Reddy and a victory from Andy Toole in the decider. Shaun Taylor won twice for Riley.
Division 2 leaders Green Road A scrambled home 4-3 away to Thame A thanks to a brace from Andy Benwell.
Darren Howard produced two breaks over 20 in his double for Thame.
Division 3 basement club East Oxford Conservative Club caused an upset in the second round of the Sherlock Cup by beating high-flying hosts Cowley Workers 4-1.
Cowley Conservative Club B whitewashed Witney C 6-0.
