Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon has paid tribute to Hildisvini after the gelding was put down following a fall at Cheltenham.
The six-year-old, a winner of seven of his 14 starts, was running a big race in the Shloer Novices’ Chase on Friday when he came down at the second-last fence, suffering fatal injuries.
Longsdon said: “Losing Hildisvini at Cheltenham last Friday was a massive blow to the yard and his owners.
“He was definitely our most exciting prospect for later this season. He will be sadly missed.”
- BANBURY trainer Paul Webber posted his first winner for leading owner JP McManus when Cantlow opened his account over fences with victory at Plumpton yesterday.
