THE Red Arrows will soar over Uffington this weekend as one of the many highlights of the White Horse Show.

The popular event in Uffington will go ahead tomorrow and Monday and visitors are expected to turn out in their droves to enjoy some good old-fashioned bank holiday fun.

As well as a performance from the famous Red Arrows on Monday at 11am, there will be activities including morris dancing, classic cars, an assault course and a funfair.

Organising committee chairman Derek Kelsey said planning was going well.

He said: “Everything is absolutely on the button. The showground is on fantastic form and we’re well ahead of where we’d normally be – everything’s looking super.

“Of course we’re hoping for good weather, but that’s one thing we can’t do anything about.

“Of course the main highlights will be the Red Arrows doing a display on Monday, and tomorrow we have one of the few remaining Hurricanes from the Battle of Britain doing a display.

“But a lot of it is new, we’ve got lots and lots of things which are a first for the Uffington White Horse Show.”

Adult tickets are £10, with OAPs and children under 16 tickets £7.30, and new family tickets cost £27.50.

Mr Kelsey added: “Our message is that a lot of shows in Oxfordshire have been cancelled this year for various reasons, so why not come to the Uffington White Horse Fair.”
