NEW sculptures have gone display at an Oxford art venue.

The work on show at The North Wall Arts Centre in South Parade, Summertown, is part of a new Oxford Sculptors’ Group exhibition that launched yesterday.

The group has been going since 2002 and has about 70 members, 20 of whom are exhibiting a total of 81 sculptures and paintings in the show.

Wood, stone, steel and bronze were used to make sculptures inspired by the human form, the animal kingdom and abstract designs.

Exhibition manager and sculptor Jennifer Newman Fox said: “There’s a wonderful range of work on show.

“People see a lot of shows where the see a lot of the same old stuff.

“The venue has a very nice atmosphere in which to exhibit and the staff are charming.”
