WORK is nearing completion on 50 supported living flats in Yarnton.
The final roof tile was laid at Erdington House in Cresswell Close on Sunday.
It will open in late November with one and two-bedroom apartments for rent and shared ownership.
It is aimed at people aged 55 and over and offers on-site care and support and facilities such as a hairdressing salon and restaurant. The project is a collaboration between Cherwell District Council, social enterprise Housing 21 and Oxfordshire County Council.
District lead member for housing Debbie Pickford, said: “I’m sure Erdington House will be wonderful when finished and I recommend that Cherwell residents visit so that they can see for themselves how good extra care housing can be.”
Housing 21 regional operations director Simon Bostock said: “We’re very excited to reach the topping out phase as this means that the scheme is rapidly approaching completion.
“It won’t be long before residents can start to move in.”
Residents yesterday attended an information day at Exeter Hall, Oxford Road, Kidlington, about the plans.
