A psychic reader from one of the world’s oldest families of fortune tellers, and a drummer from a famous 60s pop band are appearing at Oxford’s Mind Body Spirit Show next weekend.

There will be over 40 exhibitors providing one-on-one readings, holistic therapies and self-help advice and selling crystals, spiritual and holistic goods, jewellery, crystals, arts and crafts. There is also a programme of 25 talks, demonstrations and workshops.

Musician Cloudsong will be performing Native American music in two sets on Saturday.

On Sunday, the former drummer of The Searchers, who had hits including Sweets for My Sweet, Scott Ottaway, will be doing a drumming workshop and providing advice on how drumming can be good for mental health.

Romany psychic Lee Petulengro will be doing on-on-one readings on both days.

Lee is from a long line of fortune tellers dating back to the 14th Century.

His grandfather, Xavier, dubbed King of the Gypsies, came to the UK from Romania in the 1930s and went on to become a noted writer, broadcaster and astrologer.

His grandmother, Gypsy Rosalee, had a celebrated fortune telling booth on Blackpool Pier for many years and Lee has his own booth in Cardiff market.

The show covers the whole of the mind body spirit genre – with talks on consciousness, dowsing and intuition, a gong bath and a demonstration of mediumship with Witney-based medium, Debbie Blakeley.

Organiser Julie Fenn said: “Its our first show in Oxford. We want to give local people the chance to speak with and listen to, a wide variety of holistic experts and to meet likeminded people.”

The show, run by Deer Spirit Events, is at the Jury’s Inn Hotel on Saturday September 11th and Sunday September 12th, from 10-6pm each day.
