Following last weeks whinge about the ODN Quiz, imagine how good it was last Friday night to experience the delights of the John Blandy Boffin’s Quiz in Southmoor Village Hall.

This annual event is held in support of the John Blandy school and is well supported by the village, this year fielding some 15 or so teams.

A good night was had by all with our Bananadrama team coming somewhere in the middle (bit lower actually) in the rankings at the final count. Congratulations to Quiz Team Aguilera, this years winners.

A regards things Am Dram, the set for our April production of ‘Female of the Species’ has gone up and though I must confess I haven’t attended rehearsals so far I thought I might venture down the hall tomorrow night so I can report the state of play next week as it were. Watch this space folks or if you can’t wait log on to www.kbdgshow.biz I see local ace playwright Joe Graham’s new comedy ‘Fun Run’ is being premiered at the OFS Studio in May. Performed by Balancing Act Productions ‘Fun Run’ tells the tale of Libby who has a pet charity set up in honour of her husband Ed. Libby is keen to show the world her talent for charitable caring and enlists a design agency to create a campaign concept for her. All sounds good to me so I’ll risk a couple of tickets here especially as one Steve Hay is in the cast. Further details on www.balancingact.org.uk.

Now a young engineer was leaving the office at 6.45 p.m. when he found the Managing Director standing in front of a shredder with a piece of paper in his hand.

"Listen," said the Managing Director, "this is a very sensitive and important document, and my secretary is not here. Can you make this thing work?"

"Certainly," said the young engineer. He turned the machine on, inserted the paper, and pressed the start button.

"Excellent, excellent!" said the Managing Director as his paper disappeared inside the machine, "I just need one copy."

Lesson: Never, ever assume that your boss knows what he's doing.
