IT MAY be the season of goodwill but not to all mankind if you are Oxford’s Labour-controlled city council.
Parking charges in the Westgate multi-storey car park will be only £2.50 from 2pm on Thursday.
But spare a thought at Christmas for the hard-working and equally deserving traders in Headington district centre whose customers will be charged £12.80 for a stay of four to six hours in our city council-owned public car parks on those dates. Traders and customers in district centres need a helping hand at Christmas too.
So bring them some cheer. Dust off your Santa costumes, count up the silver pennies you keep in your grotto and bestow some generosity outside the city walls to help boost trade in our district shopping centres this Christmas.
