What I’m called: Sandy Briscoe

My age in years: 57

What I do: I am the fundraising manager MinstF(Cert) for an Oxfordshire Charity called Daybreak – Oxford. It is a specialist charity that offers respite for carers and stimulation and support for people living with dementia and memory loss. Daybreak clubs act as an antidote to the isolation and despair of a dementia diagnosis.

My job involves raising awareness of Daybreak with the community of Oxfordshire as well as much needed funds. l Where I live: I live on a farm in West Oxfordshire with my husband, cat Harvey and about 300 sheep.

Who I love: My father aged 88, my husband Edward, my daughter Claire, her husband Alan and my two step children Fay and Guy. I also now have a grandson Kit, aged three, and a grandaughter Star, aged 16 months.

Darkest moment: My darkest moment was when my mother died aged 77. l Happiest year: When my grandchildren were born 2009 and 2011 (and also when I met my husband) l Proudest boast: I have trekked the Great Wall of China, the Himalayas and Iceland l Biggest regret: I did not travel the world when I was young before I had my daughter.

Worst weakness: Chocolate.

Lessons learned: Not to take people for granted and never to make assumptions.

Dullest job: I can quite honestly say that I have not had one.

Lifelong hero: Michael Palin.

Oldest friend: A group of friends I met when I was in my early 20s when I ran recruitment agencies across West London. l Widest smile: My daughter Claire, anyone who knows her will agree.

Favourite dream: That I have won the lottery.
