WHAT I'M CALLED: Clifford Oakes.
MY AGE IN YEARS: 48.
WHAT I DO: I have been a binman in the Didcot area for about a year but I also spend a lot of time raising money for charity group the Thong Rangers, a charity that has become famous for their feats of strength in the skimpiest of underwear (pictured right) to raise money for children and their families, and I have been doing this for the past 11 years.
WHERE I LIVE: I live in Kynaston Road, Didcot and I have lived there for about 13 years. I have got great friends and great support in Didcot. It’s a very supportive town and if you need any help there is always someone there for you.
WHO I LOVE: Sharon Oakes, my second wife. We have been together since 1983 after meeting in Didcot and I have two step-daughters Millie, 24, and Rosie, 23.
HAPPIEST YEAR: My happiest year was 1995 when Sharon and I got married at the register office in Broadway next to the Coronet bingo building.
DARKEST MOMENT: When I lost my best friend Michael Miller in a motorbike accident in 1998 on a roundabout near the Kassam Stadium in Oxford.
PROUDEST BOAST: When my first grandchild Mason Brown was born. He is now three years old.
WORST WEAKNESS: I love chocolate and I probably each a bit too much. I can’t get enough of Turkish Delight bars.
LESSONS LEARNED: The Thong Rangers group has taught me that a great deal can be achieved when people pull together for a good cause.
DULLEST JOB: I did paper picking back in 1984 for a local company on landfill sites. It was pretty dull work and back-breaking too. I wasn’t too upset when I gave that up but I did it at the time to pay the bills.
GREATEST SHAME: I put on quite a bit of weight before I got married and some of my mates were winding me up so I made sure I lost the extra pounds quite quickly.
LIFE-LONG HERO: The boxer Mike Tyson used to be my hero and I saw him box twice.
OLDEST FRIEND: My sister-in-law Mandy Jacklin.
WIDEST SMILE: When I set myself a task I always try to finish it and when I do that brings a smile to my face. Through the Thong Rangers I spend a lot of time helping others and that gives me a great deal of satisfaction.
FAVOURITE DREAM: I have already achieved a lot of my goals. I would love to take a trip to Australia if I got the chance.
BIGGEST REGRET: When I was at St Birinus School in Didcot I wanted to complete an apprenticeship in mechanics but I failed to do that and it could have taken me in a different direction.
