The Green Road roundabout revamp at Headington, Oxford, is never going to make the traffic situation better.

Anyone with a bit of commonsense can see this. It will be worse when it is finished. The only answer to the problem of this bottleneck is a flyover.

By the time the county council realises this, the price will have quadrupled.

This roundabout was a problem 45 years ago and has gradually got worse. They were talking about a flyover then and it was stated that it would be too expensive.

In the end, it will have to have a flyover, and what is it going to cost? It would have been cheaper to have built it 45 years ago.

I remember McDonalds asking for a 'drive-thru' restaurant when it first came there.

Why not build one in the middle of the roundabout? With the amount of time it's going to take to get around it when it's finished, we will have plenty of time for a meal on the way through.

This is Cornmarket Street all over again and a total waste of £9m-plus of our money.

As I have said before, councils are not capable of running their departments and should be done away with.
