CITIZENS Advice in Oxford has now made advice for tenants available in five languages on its website.
According to Citizens Advice, 30 per cent of Oxford residents live in privately rented accommodation – the highest proportion in the UK – and the organisation says non-UK nationals are disproportionately affected by problems in private rents.
Citizens Advice has now launched a campaign to raise awareness of tenants’ rights and what renters can do to resolve issues themselves, particularly in Portuguese, Italian, Romanian, and Spanish-speaking communities.
