AN OXFORD doctor has been commended for his work to raise awareness of the need for more stem cell donors.
Director of the Oxford University Hospitals Bone Marrow Transplant Programme, Dr Andy Peniket, based at the Churchill Hospital, has for over 15 years sought to improve clinical care and outcomes for all patients undergoing stem cell transplantation.
The clinical haematologist and international expert in stem cell transplantation, received the prestigious recognition at the Anthony Nolan Supporter Awards (ANSAs) on Thursday.
