A NEW council-run lottery is offering extra prizes this month.

South Oxfordshire’s community lottery has joined up with Cornerstone arts centre in Didcot to give away a free family ticket to its Christmas production of ‘The Pied Piper’.

The ticket is being offered as an extra prize in addition to a jackpot of £25,000 and smaller cash prizes.

Residents should play the SO Charitable Lottery before September 29 to be in with the chance of winning the ticket for the show, which is running at the arts centre from December 14-29.

Lynn Lloyd, cabinet member with responsibility for the lottery, said: “We’re grateful to Cornerstone for giving the prize and it promises to be a fantastic show, which I’m sure many families would love to see.

"This is an extra incentive to play our community lottery and support local charities and voluntary organisations in South Oxfordshire.

“Many people have already got behind the lottery and play regularly, and this is a great way for people to support local causes, while being in with the chance of winning a prize.”

It costs £1 per draw to play the lottery, with 60p from every ticket sold going to good causes.

The lottery runs online and draws take place every Saturday.
