PEOPLE who struggle to pay their TV licence have just a few weeks left to opt in to a new 'simple payment plan'.

TV Licensing is reminding people in Oxfordshire to sign up to its simple payment plan, which, it claims, is its most flexible and affordable payment plan to date.

Under the system, which is currently being trialled, payments work out at £3 per week.

It is available to people most at risk of prosecution and those who have approached debt charities for advice and support.

Customers who qualify to take part in the trial will be able to choose from either a fortnightly or monthly payment plan.

Payments can be made either over the counter at any PayPoint outlet, via the website, over the phone or via a Paythru link sent to a smartphone.

The plan allows the cost of the licence fee to be spread evenly over the course of 12 months.

It also comes with other benefits including the ability to spread arrears and flexibility if payments are missed.

But if payments are missed three months in a row, customers will be removed from the plan and won’t be able to join again.

The closing date for enrolment is September, 30, 2018.
