STAFF at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford are preparing for a major new exhibition.
Spellbound: Magic, Ritual and Witchcraft will open at the Beaumont Street venue on Friday, August 31.
The exhibition will explore the history of magic over eight centuries.
Intriguing objects on display will include engraved rings and medieval books of ritual magic and visitors will be encouraged to examine their own beliefs.
To highlight the links between past and present there will be specially commissioned works by contemporary artists.
The exhibition is ticketed and runs until January 6.
