Residents are being warned to ensure their properties are prepared for floods.
The district council has reminded householders that sustained periods of hot weather can end with thunderstorms and flash flooding.
Councillor Steve Good, Cabinet Member for the Environment, said: “It pays to be prepared even with basic precautions such as ensuring ditches, channels and gutters are clear."
