THE neighbourhood policing team in Abingdon has been out cracking down on recreational drug use.
Officers took to the centre of the town on a recent Friday evening to carry out a ‘condition of entry’ operation. This means people attempting to enter certain pubs in the town had to have their hands swabbed for traces of drugs.
The swab is then run through a machine which can establish whether any drugs are present on the person.
Three licensed premises were visited on the night and a number of searches were conducted.
