AN Oxford resident is taking on the city council in a battle over a single-story extension to his home.
Oxford City Council planners had refused planning permission for the occupiers of the property in Van Diemans Lane to build a rear extension in March this year.
The addition of the single story structure would have an 'overbearing impact' on neighbouring properties, according to the council.
However the decision is now being reviewed by the planning inspectorate after the homeowner appealed the decision.
