CHILDREN feel 'happy and secure' at a playgroup thanks to efforts of staff, Ofsted has said.
Launton Playgroup near Bicester was commended in a new report by the regulator, which awarded it the second-best rating of 'good'.
Ofsted's report, published last Wednesday, stated: "Children demonstrate they are happy, confident and secure.
"Staff are very caring towards children and they are genuinely concerned for their happiness and physical wellbeing.
"They celebrate children's success, such as when children receive encouragement to share their achievements with other children and staff.
"They encourage children to take part in many lively conversations.
"Staff are enthusiastic in their interactions with children and children in turn respond with enthusiasm in their play.
The playgroup runs from a purpose-built facility next to Launton CE Primary School.
It had 27 children in its care at the time of the inspection in May.
