A RESEARCHER at Oxford University who seeks to improve treatments for children with cancer has been awarded a £15,000 fellowship.
Dr Nicola Farrer’s research aims to expand the use of ultrasound to deliver anti-cancer drugs - with a focus on childhood cancer with an extremely low life expectancy.
She has received one of just five researchers to receive a L’Oréal-UNESCO UK & Ireland For Women In Science Fellowship.
It will fund a lab technician to support the development of Dr Farrer’s laboratory work.
The announcement was made at the L’Oréal UNESCO Women in Science Awards at the Royal Society in London on Wednesday night.
