A MAN was hospitalised following an assault in Oxford yesterday evening.
The incident occurred at around 6.30pm on Garsington Road, Cowley, when the 55-year-old victim was approached by another man close to the ring road.
The victim as taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he required surgery, after sustaining a broken leg. He was still in hospital last night.
The suspect is described as a white man with brown hair, aged in his late 20s to early 30s.
He ran towards Oxford Business Park North after the attack.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
