HUNDREDS of dancers from across the country are set to descend on Oxford for a three-day charity fundraiser.
Coralie Green from Bicester runs Jive+, a local dance academy, has organised the freestyle dance event, which she hopes will raise £3,000 for Diabetes UK. The instructor was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last year.
She said: “It was such a shock to be told I had Type 1 diabetes. Even my GP was taken by surprise because I am otherwise very fit and well, and it’s quite unusual to be diagnosed with Type 1 over 40."
Ms Green added it had been a 'tough journey' but her jive classes had helped, saying: "I’m managing my diabetes better now and keeping active."
The fundraiser will take place between April 6-8 at The Oxford Academy in Littlemore. Dancers can take part in any of four sessions over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
