A DEFENCE logistics company has been recognised once again for its ‘gold standard’ providing transport and haulage from its base in Bicester, with industry leaders saying it shows the company is ‘ready’ for Brexit.
The team at Wincanton Defence was re-awarded Gold status in the 21st Century Supply Chains programme at an industry event in Belfast.
The group, which supports military operations, was the only one out of 65 businesses to hold the gold award this year.
Ross Bannerman of Wincanton said: “The ability to maintain this standard is something we are really proud of.
“We are now setting the standard in an industry where customers are actively seeking this level of external recognition. It sets us apart.”
The programme is governed by ADS , the UK trade association for the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors.
ADS Chief Executive Paul Everitt said: “Wincanton’s defence team in Bicester has demonstrated its exceptional commitment to raising its performance.
“This programme helps companies put themselves in the best possible position to compete, and supports rising productivity across the UK’s aerospace and defence industries.
“As our industries get ready for Brexit, taking part in these programmes is important to ensuring they’re prepared.”
