THE TEAM behind Bicester's biggest street party are in line for a big boost of funds but has called for the public's help.

OneBicester, which annually puts on Bicester's Big Lunch, has been shortlists for a cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.

It means the volunteer group is in line for up to £4,000 raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores and awarded to local community projects.

OneBicester director Jason Slaymaker said: "We are really excited to be part of the Tesco Bags of Help initiative, I’d encourage all Bicester residents to support an awesome celebration event which brings everyone together in our community.

"A huge thank you to Tesco for their support."

Customers can vote in store for their favourite community project they would like to win the funding.

There are grants of either £1,000, £2,000 or £4,000 being awarded by Tesco.

Any money awarded to OneBicester will go towards the Big Lunch which this year will be held on June 10 bringing together the whole community over food in Sheep Street.

Voting can be done in store both this month and next and is done using a token handed to you at the check out.
