AN MEP has urged the Government to make their intentions clear over worries nuclear research could be stalled by Brexit.
Labour MEP John Howarth, who represents South East England, said progress of a project partly managed at Culham Science Centre could be harmed if Brexit goes wrong.
He said: “If the Conservative Government gets Brexit wrong it will seriously affect Britain’s world-leading scientific reputation.
“Fusion research is far too complex for any one country to pursue on its own.”
Culham Science Centre works with the ITER project, based in Cadarache, France.
