A HOUSING association which has offices in Abingdon has been named the best in the south for tenant engagement.
Sovereign picked up the Excellence in Tenant Engagement award in the Tenant Participation Advisory Service Awards 2018.
Joyce Ward, chair of Sovereign’s Resident and Board Partnership, received the prize.
She said: “This award means so much. It reflects all of the work undertaken by the resident groups at Sovereign. Although some of the groups are still in their infancy Sovereign have listened to what residents said.
"We’ve now got a resident engagement structure in place, built by residents for residents.”
The winners were announced at an awards event held at the Wembley Hilton, London on Friday.
The annual celebration of landlords and tenants is now in its eleventh year.
Sovereign, which manages 56,000 homes, has it's Oxfordshire headquarters at Vineyard, Abingdon. The entry will now go forward to a national final with winners announced on July 12.
