A CHARITY is calling on the people in the Wychwoods to help accelerate the fight against heart disease by joining a community volunteer group.
About 12,200 people in the area of Milton-under-Wychwood, Shipton-under-Wychwood and Ascott-under-Wychwood are fighting a daily battle with heart and circulatory disease.
Each year these conditions claim the lives of more than 261 people.
The nation’s heart charity is calling on the community to step up and join the fight against heart disease by joining community volunteer groups across the area and raising vital funds for heart research.
The charity is especially looking for new volunteers to join the group as a group member, collection tin coordinator, In Memorial secretary or a community speaker.
For details on joining the group contact Lorna Murchie on murchiel@bhf.org.uk.
Alternatively, make contact by phone on 07384 257017.
