BOOKER Prize-winning author Ben Okri will be one of the main attractions at the Turl Street Arts Festival next week.
The Nigerian author, whose novel The Famished Road won the Booker Prize in 1991, will speak at Jesus College on his most recent book The Magic Lamp.
The festival, which has run for more than 20 years, has this year been extended to last two weeks and will see music, dance, drama and literature championed at Jesus, Exeter and Lincoln Colleges.
Principal of Jesus College, Sir Nigel Shadbolt, said: "Jesus College is delighted to welcome Ben Okri as a distinguished contributor to the Turl Street Arts Festival.
"We are keen to develop a flourishing creative arts environment which sits alongside our reputation for teaching excellence, scholarship and research.
Dr Okri will give his talk in the Ship Street Centre at 8.30pm on Monday.
