A CLASSICS centre at an Oxford secondary school is to stage a festival of imagined worlds.

Cheney School in Headington is the home of the Iris Centre, which runs free classes and programmes for students and residents interested in studying Classics.

The Iris Festival of Imagined Worlds will take place on Friday, February 9, from 3pm to 6pm.

This event will celebrate novels set in imaginary places.

Visitors will be able to walk through different fictional worlds as they explore the site, each one containing striking decorations, workshops, stalls, and activities themed on novels and their authors. The four main worlds will include JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Lewis Carroll and JK Rowling.

There will be more than 30 different organisations coming to run activities and stalls, and speakers will include Melinda Salisbury, author of The Sin-Eater’s Daughter. To book a place email info@irisproject.org.uk
