THE REVOLUTIONARY ideas behind street art will be explored in a lecture by a London filmmaker.
Doug Gillen, who has been heavily involved in documenting the east London street art scene, will give a talk called 'Empowering People – the Real Voice of Street Art' on Wednesday.
He will look at how art lies at the heart of social unrest and provides a voice for those who cannot be heard.
More than mindless vandalism, he will put forward the idea that it is the early stages of revolution.
Tickets are £6.00 and are available online at theartssocietyabingdon.org.uk
The lecture will take place from 2.00pm at Trinity Church, Conduit Road, Abingdon.
